How you have contributed to the project?
I have contributed to the assignment by brainstorming some ideas and coming up with some activities that me and my group members can do for the assignment. I contributed through volunteering, which is a must for our activity. A given example would be volunteering at the animal shelter, help bathe the dogs there; and also volunteer to help get some food for the dogs. Next, I became a translator for my group members. For example, the person running the animal shelter was not that fluent in English so instead he spoke Malay; and some of my members only understand a bit of the language, so I help by translating what the person said to my group members. Then, I have help set up some parts of the website, and also give ideas on what to do and what else to add into our website. I also made a survey about kindness for this project so that we could gather up data for our topic. Lastly, I became the interviewer for my group because the rest had their own roles to play and I did not really have any, so I became the interviewer for most of our project.

What were some of the challenges you faced while completing the project?
Throughout the course of this assignment, me and my group faced some problems. The problems include timing and money. When we were planning on when to meet up or when can we do our projects, some of us cannot make it because we already have plans outside of our studies. Hence, we ended up delaying most plans. After that, money is another problem for us because we’re only students and we only have a small budget. These two were not the only problems we had to cope with; we had to search for shelters or any volunteering work and contacted them to offer our help, but some of them ended up did not get back to us. The things that we planned to do, did not planned out well.
How were the challenges resolved?
We decided on the time and place where each of us feels comfortable with meeting up for discussions and start doing our work that we planned; the we also saved enough money so that we could buy the things we need for our project. After days of not getting a reply from the shelter, we decided to scratch it and come up with a better plan; and we also made a backup plan just in case if things do not work out well.
Did you enjoy this project?
My experience overall during the course of this assignment was amazing. I had an amazing group consisting of boys and girls. We had a fun time doing this project and also sharing our ideas, and learn a thing or two from one another. Plus, I learned to be humble and be grateful for what I have; and that it does not take much just to help others. The only thing is that we have to take a step to help others without being told to. We all should do a random act of kindness at least once a week or so. I also learned how to manage my time during the whole course and also come up with a backup plan incase if anything goes wrong. Even though there were obstacles in the way, me and my group members will always find a way to overcome it.
State the TGCs that you have acquired through this project .
The TGCs that I have acquired throughout this assignment is lifelong learning, thinking and problem-solving skills, and interpersonal skills.

I have acquired lifelong learning by being intellectually engaged in group discussions and also group activities. This allows me to come up with ideas and also hear out other member’s ideas and listen to what they have to offer.

After that, thinking and problem-solving skills is acquired by overcoming obstacles. For example, when the shelter did not contact my group members after a few days. During those few days, we came up with another plan if all else fails.

Lastly, interpersonal skills; Being a group leader is not an easy task. To be a group leader, I needed to be very responsible as a leader and also towards my group members. I have understood what it takes to be a leader, I needed to know about team dynamics and how to mobilize the power of teams.
